The current members of the Board of Advisors (BOA) for the Beta-Eta Chapter are listed below. The BOA positions of Chairman, Vice Chairman, Treasurer, Secretary, House Management Advisor, Rush Advisor, Chapter Advisor, and Faculty Advisor are elected every two years. Other voting members of the BOA include the president (or his representative) of the Beta-Eta Chapter Alumni Association, the Chapter Prytanis, the Chapter Crysophylos, and various members-at-large.
BOA Chairman: Steve Bahr BH818
Steve “Fozz” Bahr BH818 is the current BOA Chairman and has been a BOA member since 2014.
BOA Vice Chairman: Ryan Rzadca BH958
Ryan Rzadca BH958 is the current BOA Vice Chairman and has been a BOA member since 2006.

BOA Secretary: Joshua Nixon BH1093
Joshua “Sunshine” Nixon BH1093 is the current BOA Secretary and has been a BOA member since 2017. Joshua graduated in 2017 with a B.S. in nuclear engineering with minors in mathematics and political science. While an active member, Joshua served as Prytanis (President), Hegemon (Educator), Hypophetes (Chaplain), and Rush Chairman. He also received the International Ronald Reagan Leadership Award, Top Teke Award, and graduated from the TKE Leadership Academy. Outside of the chapter, Joshua was President of the Interfraternity Council (IFC) and graduated from the Chancellor’s Leadership Academy. Joshua currently works as a nuclear systems operator for NextEra Energy at Seabrook Nuclear Station in Seabrook, New Hampshire.
BOA Treasurer: Jeff Steinhart BH583
Jeff Steinhart BH583 is the current BOA Treasurer and has been a BOA member since 2015. Jeff graduated in 1976 with a B.S. in engineering management, and he later received his MBA from Southern Illinois University in 1982. As an active, Jeff served as Crysophylos (Treasurer) and Activities Chairman. Currently working as a consultant in business and engineering, Jeff previously worked at Anheuser Busch for 29 years. Jeff also currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Missouri S&T where he has been a member for over a dozen years and has held the positions of President and Vice President.
Rush Advisor: John Eash BH536
John Eash BH536 is the current Rush Advisor and has been a BOA member since 2016. John graduated in 1979 with a B.S. in aerospace engineering, and he later received his M.S. in engineering management from Missouri S&T in 1990 and his MBA from Washington University in St. Louis in 1998. While an active member, John served as Prytanis (President), Epiprytanis (Vice President), and Rush Chairman. He also contributed towards the chapter winning Greek Week, IFC Sing, and Homecoming. John worked at Boeing for over 35 years and has given back to the University by serving as President of the Miner Alumni Association and as Executive Director of Corporate Relations for Missouri S&T.
House Management Advsior: Dave Bernhard BH816
Dave Bernhard BH816 is the current House Management Advisor and has been a BOA member since 2014. Dave graduated in 1992 with a B.S. in engineering management, and he continued to stay involved after graduation including serving as Alumni Association President in the mid-1990s and on the BOA in the late 1990s. While an active member, Dave served as Prytanis (President), Epiprytanis (Vice President), and Hegemon (Educator). He was also an active member of the St. Pats Board, serving as President in 1989 to 1990 and being honored as St. Pat 1990, and as an officer in Theta Tau Omega. He has been owner of Bernhard Auto Works in Columbia, Illinois since 2013, and he is active in community activities including as a softball coach for Columbia Khoury League since 2003, Treasurer for the Columbia Athletic Association, and a member of the City of Columbia Play Commission and Kiwanis Club of Columbia.
Chapter Advisor: Darryl Brinkmann BH534A
Darryl Brinkmann BH534A is the current Chapter Advisor serving on the BOA since 2014. Darryl graduated in 1978 with a B.S. in mechanical engineering, and he later received his MBA from the University of Illinois at Springfield in 1982. Although Darryl was initiated at Southeast Missouri State University, he transferred to Missouri S&T and calls the Beta-Eta Chapter home. Darryl worked at Caterpillar for the length of his career and held various staff and leadership positions in Facilities Engineering, Manufacturing Planning, Purchasing, Human Resources, and IT Infrastructure. After retiring from Caterpillar in 2010, he returned to Rolla as an Adjunct Instructor in Business & Information Technology from 2011 to 2017.
Faculty Advsior: Dr. Mark Fitch BH999
Dr. Mark Fitch BH999 is the current Faculty Advisor and has been a BOA member since 2003. Fitch is assistant chair and associate professor of environmental engineering at Missouri S&T. He graduated in 1989 with a B.S. in chemical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin where he later received his Ph.D. in 1996.
Alumni Association President: Drew Hall BH1042
Drew “Tugboat” Hall BH1042 is the current Alumni Association President elected in 2018. Drew graduated in 2011 with a B.S. in mechanical engineering and later received his master’s degree in engineering/industrial management with a graduate certificate in project management from Missouri S&T in 2015. While an active, Drew served as Prytanis (President), Epiprytanis (Vice President), Hegemon (Educator), Hypophetes (Chaplain), and Rush Chairman, and he was the low scroll of the fall 2007 pledge class. Drew currently works as a tooling engineer for Production Castings and has worked previously as a design engineer for Olin Brass.
Chapter Prytanis: Colton Gholson BH1126
Colton Gholson BH1126 is the current Chapter Prytanis (President). Colton is pursuing a B.S. in electrical engineering. Colton has been the Prytanis since fall 2017 and has also served as Epiprytanis (Vice President) and Grammateus (Secretary).
Chapter Crysophylos: Preston Walden BH1141
Preston Walden BH1141 is the current Chapter Crysophylos (Treasurer). Preston has been the Crysophylos since fall 2017 and has also served as Assistant Crysophylos.

Member-at-Large: Mike McEvilly BH615
Mike McEvilly BH615 is a BOA member-at-large serving since 2016. Mike graduated in 1980 with a B.S. in civil engineering and received his M.S. in engineering management a year later in 1981. While an active, Mike served as Hypophetes (Chaplain) and Grammateus (Secretary), and he received the International Top Teke Award in 1980. Mike has served in an instrumental role as the Campaign Chairman for the new Beta-Eta Chapter house, and he is also a member of the TKE Educational Foundation Board of Directors serving as a member of the Executive Committee, Chairman of the Advancement Committee, and Co-Chairman of the Board Development and Nominations Committee. Mike is still active with Missouri S&T as President-Elect of the Miner Alumni Association, Vice President of the Academy of Engineering Management, and member of the Academy of Civil Engineering. Mike is a oil and gas professional for deepwater developments, and he is active in his community as an Elder of Trinity Lutheran Church and President of the Bright Light Foundation.
Member-at-Large: Mark Downer BH655
Mark Downer BH655 is a BOA member-at-large serving since fall 2018. Mark graduated in 1982 with a B.S. in mechanical engineering, and he later received his M.S. in mechanical engineering from Washington University in St. Louis is 1986. Mark specializes in product lifecycle management (PLM) and has worked as a design engineer for numerous companies including McDonnell Douglas Aircraft, Boeing, and General Dynamics. He is currently employed with Siemens Government Technologies as a Principal Solution Architect.
Member-at-Large: Rob Starrett BH930
Rob Starrett BH930 is a BOA member-at-large serving since fall 2018. Rob graduated in 2002 with a B.S. in mechanical engineering. While an active member, Rob served as Prytanis (President), Rush Chairman, Assistant House Manager, and Social Chairman. He was also active in IFC where he served as 1st Vice President and active in Theta Tau Omega where he served as President and Summerfest Chairman. Rob has worked for True Manufacturing, a worldwide leader in commercial and high-end residential refrigeration equipment, since 2003 where he works in the Process Engineering/Continuous Improvement departments supporting multiple production and customer support areas.
Member-at-Large: Curt Costello BH959
Curt Costello BH959 is a BOA member-at-large serving since 2017. Curt graduated in 2004 with a B.S. in civil engineering. Curt is currently Director of Restoration Services for Concrete Strategies LLC where he previously worked as Project Director and Project Manager.
Member-at-Large: Ryan Elam BH989
Ryan “Chief” Elam BH989 is a BOA member-at-large serving since 2005 and has previously served as Chairman, Vice Chairman, and Secretary of the BOA. Ryan graduated in 2007 with a B.S. in civil engineering. While an active member, Ryan served as Prytanis (President), Epiprytanis (Vice President), Rush Chairman, and House Manager. He also graduated from the TKE Leadership Academy, and he was involved outside of the chapter as President of the Interfraternity Council (IFC). Ryan is currently Director of Development Services for the City of Lee’s Summit, a role he has held since 2016, and has previously worked for BHC RHODES as a project manager. He is also an active member of the Rotary Club of Lee’s Summit.
Member-at-Large: Will Ruzicka BH1016
Will Ruzicka BH1016 is a BOA member-at-large serving since spring 2018. Will graduated in 2006 with a B.S. in chemical engineering and in 2008 with a M.S. in engineering management. While an active member, Will served as Histor (Historian) twice. Will is currently a Process Engineer with ADM.
Member-at-Large: Ivan Matthews BH1057
Ivan “Thor” Matthews BH1057 is a BOA member-at-large serving since spring 2018. While an active member, Ivan served as Pylortes (Sergeant-at-Arms), Hegemon (Educator), and Grammateus (Secretary). Outside of the chapter, Ivan was Vice President – Risk Management of the Interfraternity Council (IFC) and was President of the Fraternal Order of Leaders (FOL). Ivan currently works as a security analyst for Legence Bank in Eldorado, Illinois.

Member-at-Large: Michael Taylor BH1094
Michael “McGruff” Taylor BH1094 is a BOA member-at-large serving since spring 2018 as Student Advisor. Michael is pursuing a B.S. in engineering/industrial management with a targeted graduation date of fall 2018. Michael is currently serving as Histor (Historian) and has previously served as Prytanis (President), Rush Chairman, Pylortes (Sergeant-at-Arms), and Assistant Crysophylos (Treasurer). Michael is the recipient of the Top TKE Recruiter Award, and he is also the founder of the Miner Wrestling Club. Michael has interned for several companies including Engineered Corrosion Solutions, Kerr Athletics, and Tacony Manufacturing.
